Forty years have passed since Studio 54 closed its doors, but the legendary nightclub is having quite the moment lately: from a 400-page (8 pound!) coffee table book and an award-winning documentary, to a Michael Kors capsule collection and a sparkling NARS cosmetics line. This month, the Brooklyn Museum opens its ode to the iconic New York City playground with the exhibit Studio 54: Night Magic.
Known not only for the glamour and glitz of its clientele, Studio 54 famously created exuberant spectacles of music, lights and dancing. Housed in a former CBS radio and television studio, the owners took advantage of the existing stage equipment to create cutting-edge lighting displays and elaborate sets while featuring the top disco, funk, rock, and new wave musical acts of the era.
With its panel and acoustic fabric named after the beloved club, Duvaltex remembers the energy and glitter of that time.
